I don't think they should be considered a duo. The man never sings. He's really just a back-up singer/guitar player. I don't think it's fair to other musicians in the same catergory. What's your opinion?

nope, not a duo. LOTS of bands have ppl classified as "backup vocals" and that doesnt make the band a duo... if he had major parts in songs, like idk Nelly and Tim Mcgraw, then that would be a duo. but repeating a chorus kinda doesnt count... but i dont think they should be considered a duo

He does sing every now and then. Both of them are the main songwriters. They are a duo, and a good one at that.

In a duo, there's one lead singer & one back-up.

Brooks and Dunn are a duo and Ronnie Dunn does most of the singing. I think Sugarland is a duo.

I agree somewhat.  You're right that Kristian never sings.  However, keep in mind Sugarland was a trio before going as a duo.  I bought into the trio concept.  However, since they lost the other female, it seems to be the Jennifer Nettles show.  I've seen them in concert twice, and it is the same with their live show.  Kristian could easily blend in as just a member of the band.

I believe they are a duo. Kristian doesn't sing a lot, but he does sing verses in several of their songs. Check them out live and you will see that Kristian is nearly as big a part of the show as Jennifer. They put a lot of energy into their live performances.

I'd say Sugarland is a duo.
