I know Kenny Chesney won Entertainer of the Year, but why is he upset at the ACMA? I saw him talking on Inside Edition just now and he said something about he was upset that he was upset because fans voted now? If that is the case, who used to vote and why does this upset him?

    Thanks!

He was upset because he thinks that the fans voting for the artists is disrespectful to them. This year was the first year they did that, the members of the Acadamy of Country Music have chosen up until this year. I agree with him, when he said it's up to who ever can click the internet the most. It's a popularity contest now, no longer about the music.

Because the 'people' can now vote, it becomes more about popularity and who is "hotter" than about the music.

The purpose of award shows it to celebrate the music. If artists are awarded based on other things besides music, it defeats the purpose of having award shows.

He probably realizes, he might have only won because a bunch of 14 yr old girls think he is cute so they voted for him.

I didn't really know he was upset until I read this, but I agree with him! I'm glad he's saying something too, maybe the ACM will listen and not do this next year!
I voted, for George, he should have won but the young ones (I mean really young) don't see how amazing he is so they wont vote for him! My vote got an error and didn't count, and I could not redo it b/c of the system.
I don't think the ACM's should be fixing something that was never broken in the first place... next year I want it back to the way it always was!
